Iron Horse

This is Iron Horse's Blanc de Noirs, made from predominantly Pinot Noir. It has a beautiful rose color. Rich and creamy, like pure strawberries and cream, this is without doubt the most romantic of our Sparklings. It is dangerously easy to drink. A favorite for many, Iron Horse is probably best known for this cuvee. Marries perfectly with frisee salad with diced bacon and a Pinot Noir vinaigrette, Chinese chicken salad, scrambled eggs and caviar, rock shrimp and potato frittata, mushroom dishes such as a grilled Portobello sandwich or wild mushroom risotto, poached salmon - hot or cold, and best of all, chocolate dipped strawberries.

Wine Spectator

Floral aromas of strawberry and green apple lead to refined flavors of raspberry and lemon that finish with a brisk minerality. Drink now through 2016. 4,775 cases made.

Score: 89. —Tim Fish, December 15, 2011.

Wine Enthusiast

A beautiful wine, in the Iron Horse style, with plenty of ripe fruit balanced with crisp acidity. The lime, strawberry and raspberry flavors have a pleasantly yeasty edge, with a slightly sweet finish.

Score: 88. —Steve Heimoff, December 15, 2011.
