Amicus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2004
Aromas of black cherry, brown sugar, chocolate and plum. Seductive and stylish, with well integrated tannins and a layered blend of dark fruits, spice and cedar stirring towards a lingering finish highlighted by coffee and chocolate nuance. Wine Enthusiast Amicus has been doing a good job over the years producing richly intense mountain-style Cabs. This one, from a warm vintage, is very ripe, showing lusty red and black currant flavors. The tannins are thick, but sweet and fine, making the wine instantly drinkable, although decanting won’t hurt. Best now–2010. Score: 90. —Steve Heimoff, December 31, 2007.All sizes are 750mL unless otherwise noted. |
