Luciano Sandrone Nebbiolo d'Alba Valmaggiore 2004
Wine Advocate As is to be expected the 2004 Nebbiolo d’Alba Valmaggiore is noticeably fresher and more vibrant in its aromas as well as flavors. It is a beautifully delineated effort, bursting with sweet fruit, tar mineral, spices and well- integrated oak, displaying outstanding depth and fine overall balance. This lovely Nebbiolo shows just how compelling the wines from Roero can be, and may very well be Sandrone’s finest effort from these vines in Vezza d’Alba. Highly recommended. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2016. Score: 91. —Antonio Galloni, April 2007.Wine Spectator Shows lovely perfumes of cedar, rose and berries. Full-bodied, with fine tannins and a clean, refined finish. Like a solid Barolo. Hard not to drink now. Best after 2007. 1,500 cases made. Score: 90. —James Suckling, December 31, 2006.
