Balanced, round and enticing. Insoglio is the base of the productive's pyramid of the Tenuta Campo di Sasso. The grapes for this red wine come from young vines (usually up to 4 uears of age) which, in spite of their youth, express a strong personality, combining smoothness and structure - a typical expression of the Estate's great terroir.

Wine Enthusiast Surprisingly rich and complex for such a young wine, this blend of Syrah and other red varieties flaunts its sun-drenched Bibbona (central Italy) origins with penetrating and polished aromas of forest berry fruit, peppercorn and Mediterranean sage. From brothers Piero and Ludovico Antinori. Score: 89. —Monica Larner, May 01, 2007.

Wine Advocate Campo di Sasso is the new project being headed by Lodovico and Piero Antinori, with the consulting services of Michel Rolland. The 2005 Insoglio del Cinghiale, a blend of 30% Syrah, 25% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot saw 20 days of fermentation in stainless steel followed by 6 months of barrique aging. It offers attractive aromatics along with gorgeous layers of ripe dark fruit, tar, spices and earthiness. Best enjoyed over the next few years, it is a promising debut from this new property. Score: 89. —Antonio Galloni, February 2007.
