The aromatics suggest dark fruit and baking spices, dried herbs and vanilla. On the palate we note black cherry, currant and a dusty hint of cinnamon and nutmeg. Vanilla bean and mocha fulfill the mid-palate, leading to a finish with bright acidity and complex red and dark fruits. Pair with herb-crusted prime rib with red wine blackberry sauce

Medium to deep ruby, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma Series is scented of cassis, lilac, black cherries, pencil shavings, mint chocolate and forest floor with hints of leather, dried tobacco leaf and cedar. Medium to full-bodied, it's mineral-driven in the mouth with grainy tannins and great freshness, finishing long with sweet spice character.

Thick and tannic in full-bodied concentration, this wine overdelivers on its price point, offering well-defined and richly rewarding flavors of dark cherry and cassis. Oak, clove and pencil shavings provide complex counterparts to the fruit.
