Glass-staining ruby. Smoke-tinged dark berries, licorice and vanilla aromas are given spicy lift by a hint of cracked pepper. Brooding black currant and bitter cherry flavors show good depth and slowly turn sweeter on the back half. The licorice note repeats on a pliant, spicy finish framed by dusty, slow-building tannins.
