Beautiful aromas of black cherry, caramel, sea salt and roasted pork make for a very delicious and immediately accessible nose on this bottling. The roasted and smoked meat flavors show on the palate as well, with black-currant and acai fruit aspects driving into the lush finish.

Bright, youthful purple. Ripe black and blue fruits on the perfumed nose, along with suggestions of smoky minerals, cured meat and candied flowers. Chewy, mineral-accented blackberry, boysenberry and fruitcake flavors show sharp delineation and bright, spicy lift. In a concentrated yet lively style, finishing long and appealingly sweet, with repeating smokiness and dusty tannins lending framework and firm grip. (raised in a combination of new and used French and American oak barrels)

Coming from the estate vineyard in Paso Robles, the 2017 Syrah was completely destemmed and spent 13 months in 30% new oak. Its deep purple color is followed by a ripe Syrah that has lots of black and blue fruits, some charred oak, licorice, and graphite aromas and flavors. It's a ripe, medium to full-bodied, nicely made Syrah to enjoy over the coming 4-5 years.

Containing 6% Petite Sirah, the 2017 Syrah has a medium to deep ruby-purple color and confected fruit aromas of powdered sugar, grape candy and warm black fruits. It's full-bodied with very sweetish, dark fruits, slightly fuzzy tannins and a warm, oak-inflected finish.
